When you join our CSA, you join our farm-ily which is a great group of eaters in the Mid-Atlantic who are committed to cooking and eating seasonally.
You get a veggie box every week during the season you choose (year-round or half-year). We are a "get-what-you-get" CSA meaning we give you the best of what is ripe and available the farm. We grow a lot of the most familiar veggies, including tomatoes, cucumber, potatoes and lettuces, as well as some that we hope to introduce you to like kohlrabi, Italian sweet peppers and fennel.
In addition to produce from our farm, we have partnered with a select few area farmers who provide some items that fill your boxes, including Sassafras Creek Farm, 78 Acres and Next Step Produce, whose produce help broaden our diversity and strengthen the boxes every week of the year.
Payments are weekly.
You have access to our exclusive CSA member e-store in which you may purchase a myriad of other select local goods like fruit, eggs, mushrooms, honey, bulk veggies, WV salts and more.
You may skip a share if you'd like (vacations, etc.) and you will not get charged for it.
We send you a weekly e-newsletter with the insider scoop on what's happening on our farm, and recipes tailored to that weeks harvest.
You get access to an incredible community of eaters online that share recipe ideas, enthusiasm for cooking and preservation tips.
We also grow and sell organic and specialty veggie + herb transplants for your gardens and will share all about that in the newsletters!
Joining won't cost you anything until the first week of veggies (unless you choose to pay in full!), but it means the WORLD to us to have your commitment, so we can focus on what we do best: GROWING veggies.
We'd love to have you be a part of our farm-ily.
Step 1: Pick Share Size
We have FOUR share options - which works best for you?
We measure shares by "items" - but each week we do a calculation on the worth of each item to ensure the VALUE adds up each time. An "item" is something like: a pint of cherry tomatoes, a bag of lettuce, 2 onions, a bunch of kale or a quart of potatoes.
Small Share: 4-6 items per week for $28
Medium Share: 7-9 items per week for $42
Large Share: 11-14 items per week for $62
Ugly Share: 6-8 items per week for $30
Step 2: Pick Season Length
Choose either the Peak Season
-
25 weeks or 6 months long
-
Starts in June, goes through end of November
-
Features the height of Spring, all of Summer and peak Fall produce!
OR choose the Perennial Season:
-
Perpetual share that runs 50 weeks a year, from the first week in January through the end of December (we take the last 2 weeks in December off!).
-
No need to remember to sign up again - this share will keep continuing across years.
-
Winter shares feature a lot of storage crops + leafy greens
For weekly payments, no payment is due at time of sign-up! Your card will be charged weekly, 3 days before your share is packed for you.
For UPFRONT payments for the 2022 season, we're offering a discount for joining and paying in FULL by December 31, 2021!
Step 3: Pick-Up or Delivery
PICK UP LOCATIONS: We have pick-up locations available in the Greater Baltimore, DC, and Frederick areas. Pick ups are Tuesdays through Fridays, and hours range from 2-9pm (some locations close earlier than others). Please note that if you do not make it in time to pick up your share, it is forfeited for the week.
HOME DELIVERY is available for certain zip codes! Areas that we deliver to include but are not limited to: Baltimore, Frederick, Washington, D.C., Bethesda, Woodsboro, Phoenix, Cockeysville, Columbia & Catonsville. Zip codes are listed on our sign-up page. Please note that since sometimes zip codes cover a huge radius, we cannot guarantee that if you are in a zip code we deliver to that you are in our delivery zone.
For both pick up AND delivery: You may always put your share on hold if you'll be out of town so you don't pay for what you don't get!
